Drogheda YSI Group Reaches National Showcase

In late 2010, a Young Social Innovators group in Drogheda, Co Louth, asked IDK to advise on their project. These students are now short-listed for the 10th Young Social Innovators annual showcase in Dublin on May 11, 2011.

Sixty projects were short-listed from over 350 social-action projects pitched to regional judges by 5,500 young people aged 15 to 18, around Ireland.

Through the summer, the Drogheda students plan to caption varied YouTube videos to highlight the need to make YouTube accessible to deaf people.

A petition for universal newborn hearing testing is also part of the students’ project. Please sign the petition and share the link with your online network.
