Customising Sound Technologies For Personal Use

Imagine yourself in a very noisy bar, or at a music gig. You’re wincing slightly at all the noise, or straining to hear what your friends are saying.

For many people, this is a daily reality when they wear hearing-devices (even at a tea-station in a busy office, sound can bounce off tiled areas).

Young students in a classroom can be distracted by unwanted sound when they are learning, if they don’t have personal FM, or a soundfield system.

Experimenting with new technologies is essential. Sometimes it’s knowing what’s out there for children and adults, and getting to test the solutions.

Some options: Clarity Out Of The Din For Hard of Hearing People

The trick is to persevere, especially if you aren’t a sound-engineer. If one system doesn’t work, try another, and track new products on online forums. In some cases the technology may be loaned for testing, before you invest.
